On Saturday, November 19th, University Magazine takes you to the Elliott Union to show some fun things to do when you aren't in class. We meet Andrew Mather, a UCM photography student, as he captures events on campus, through his lens. We honor our military veterans as we go to the grand opening and dedication of the Military and Veteran's Success Center.
November 12, 13 and 18
Take a seat at the dinner table with alumni and friends at the "Dinner for 12 Mules." Libyan refugee and international columnist, Mansour El-Kikhia, comes to the university to give a lecture on the political history of Libya and a different perspective on its current events. Then we jump into the scrum, as we learn about the Rugby Club.
November 5, 6 and 11
Stories on the "Show Me Justice" Film Festival held at UCM, music professor and author, Steven Moore talks about his book "Play it from the Heart" and an inside look at the Marching Mules. Finally, we get a taste from the dinner tables around the globe, at the International Student Organization's Food Show.
October 29, 30 and November 4
On Saturday, October 29th, University Magazine gets the spirit of Halloween with coverage of the "Murder in the Library" and the UCM Photo Society's first ever Zombie Shoot. Author and Political Analyst, Larry Sabato, returns to campus during Constitution Week to challenge students with their knowledge and thoughts about the US Constitution.
October 15, 16 and 21
The sights and sounds of Homecoming 2011. The Pep Rally and the Spirit Window Painting Competition are underway to get the campus in the mood for Saturday's Homecoming Parade and Mules Football game. We meet the Homecoming King and Queen. Finally, the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Dinner introduces us to the winners of this year’s Distinguished Alumni Award.
October 1, 2, and 7
University Magazine travels to Lee's Summit, Missouri to “In the Middle Cupcakes”. We get our hands dirty with UCM's Landscaping Services. Learn what it takes to Study Abroad, and lastly we kick out Alzheimer’s in a kickball tournament.
September 24, 25 and 30
On Saturday, September 24th University Magazine takes us to the Archives and Museum in the James Kirkpatrick Library. We get a tour of the Wesley Student Center. Then we take a look back at the President's Lawn Concert. We meet student warriors of Dagorhir. Lastly, the Mules Football team takes a brief timeout to teach future Mules and Jennies how to play football.
September 17, 18 and 23
We highlight the first weeks of the Fall Semester. We watch incoming freshman learn how to become better leaders and then see the events of Welcome Week on the first week of classes. We Get the Red Out during the home opener for Mules Football. We see how UCM and the area community are helping those affected by the tragedy in Joplin, Missouri. All that and more on this brand new episode of University Magazine.
September 10, 11 and 16
From the Commencement exercises of May 2011, we recognize the University's best with the recipients of the Byler Award, the two Charno recipients, and the Distinguished Service Award recipient, Gregg Williams. Former U.S. President William J. Clinton receives an Honorary Doctorate after his commencement speech, and we congratulate the ROTC and Nursing graduates during their ceremonies.
