Missy Shelton discusses the FY 2009 Missouri Budget under consideration by the general assembly with members of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Senators Gary Nodler, Chairman, and Joan Bray provide their perspectives on various aspects of the budget in terms of the overall U.S. economy.

Secretary of State Robin Carnahan discusses the upcoming presidential primary in Missouri, voter registration, voter identification requirements, initiative petitions and election-related legislative proposals. She also talks about the Safe at Home program which helps victims of domestic abuse. Another topic of discussion is the state's record retention policy and how it relates to emails.

Guests: Representative John Burnett and Representative Jim Lembke
The focus of this program is proposed changes to the way Missouri chooses judges. Representative Lembke is sponsoring a measure that would change the Missouri Plan. Representative Burnett has concerns about Lembke's proposal.
This session, lawmakers will consider proposed changes to the judiciary: how judges are chosen and evaluated. Here to talk about this topic is the sponsor of those proposals: Republican Representative Jim Lembke of St Louis County. He has a background in business. Also joining us is Democratic Representative John Burnett of Jackson County, who is an attorney.

Among the topics discussed are proposals to expand the Insure Missouri program and undocumented immigrants.
